Nayazha (pronounced Nay•Asia) Coleman is a southern Black, performance artist, healer, and community advocate. Although beginning her education as a Theatre & Performance Studies major, she graduated with a B.S. in Integrative Studies with concentrations in Writing and Gender & Women Studies from Kennesaw State University. This academic journey led her to create new possibilities through art, words, and actions for those who have experienced many of the same traumas that have impacted her.

Her life’s work lies in uncovering what her ancestors believed before colonization, and looking deeply at spirituality, identity, relationships, and education. She is heavily influenced by her ancestral belief systems, her background in Queer Theory, and Afrofuturism. Currently, Nayazha is enrolled in a Master of Divinity program at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. In her spare time, she loves to perform, travel, and immerse herself in nature.
